Geography
Malaysia is situated right
in the heart of South East Asia and is divided into two regions, known as
East Malaysia and West Malaysia. West Malaysia, or also known as Peninsular
Malaysia, consist of the southern portion of the Malay Peninsula and the nearby
islands. East Malaysia occupies the northern section of Sabah and Sarawak.
Malaysia is a federation of 13 states plus 3 federal territories (Johor,
Kedah, Kelantan,
Melaka, Negeri
Sembilan, Pahang, Perak,
Pulau Pinang, Perlis,
Sabah, Sarawak,
Selangor, Terengganu,
Kuala Lumpur, Labuan,
Putrajaya). Kuala
Lumpur, the capital city, is the largest federal territory, there are
two others, Labuan and Putrajaya.
